Description

The Lab brings together a multidisciplinary team of urban planners, environmental, data-science, mobility, legal and financial experts, providing a holistic and proactive approach to sustainable urbanization. Reporting and Communication The communication specialist consultant will work under the direct supervision of the head of Urban Lab, and assist in development of the communication strategy and related activities for the Urban Lab. Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall supervision of the project management team of the Urban Lab, the consultant will be responsible for the following duties:

Assessing the current state of communication: Assessment of the current communicating material of Urban Lab to define strengths and weaknesses of materials.
Development of communication strategy: Definition of clear goals and targets, the definition of target audience and the type of content to be produced for the specific type of audience, development of the communication plan considering the key events. eFdmnu9 vYmSD
Content creation and support: Writing and editing various types of content, including thematic stories, press releases, speeches, and social media posts, in keeping with organisational standards.
Social media management: ensuring the Lab's social media presence that implies creating social media Urban Lab profiles (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc.), adapting and posting related content.
Support with internal communications: Ensuring eventual participation in the meetings with the section-wide and agency-wide communication team, supporting the coordination between the different Branches and Units at UN-Habitat to facilitate integrated communication outputs. Consultations with section-wide and agency-wide communication teams, getting clear feedback on Lab’s material, integrating the comments to ensure the alignment with the overarching agency’s standards and goals (following UN-Habitat guidelines for communication)
Support with the event planning: Supporting the definition of event materials to be produced and technical support with content creation such as texts for press conferences, interviews, photo descriptions and others, assisting in producing information materials for product launches, events, etc. to promote the Lab and the Lab products.
Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualification: First Level university degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is required. Work Experience: Experience of at least 2 years in developing comprehensive communication strategies and an in-depth understanding of target audiences, highly effective writing style, and expertise in high-impact messaging to global audiences is required. Excellent working knowledge of digital media, including social media platforms and processes, with experience in creating and sharing digital content is required Experience working with urban planning topics is desirable
