JOB DETAILS:

Reports to: Executive Director

Job Purpose:
The Education Sponsorship Project Officer will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the education sponsorship programs within the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Officer will be responsible for coordinating the sponsorship of children's education, ensuring that they have access to quality education and support. The Officer will work closely with local schools, sponsors, and community stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of education sponsorship initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Education Sponsorship Management: Oversee and manage the education sponsorship programs, ensuring compliance with sponsorship guidelines and policies.
2. Sponsor-Child Relationship: Foster positive and meaningful relationships between sponsors and sponsored children through regular communication and updates.

3. School Collaboration: Collaborate with local schools and educational institutions to identify eligible children for sponsorship and ensure their enrolment and retention in school.
4. Student Support: Provide support and guidance to sponsored children, including academic, emotional, and psychosocial support as needed. Identify and provide intervention support to the weaker students

5. Sponsorship Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date sponsorship records, including child profiles, sponsorship agreements, and progress reports.

6. Budget Management: Monitor and manage the education sponsorship budget, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately to support sponsored children's needs.

7. Community Engagement: Work closely with community leaders and stakeholders to raise awareness of the importance of education and garner support for the sponsorship program.
8. Impact Assessment: Regularly assess the impact of the education sponsorship program on children's academic performance, attendance, and overall well-being.
9. Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports on the status of the education sponsorship program, providing updates to the ED and sponsors. Continue to encourage parents and schools to provide reports each term

Qualifications and Competencies:
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Education, Social Work, IT or a related field preferable but not essential
• Minimum 3 years of experience in managing education sponsorship or child-focused programs.
