Rationale and scope of the role

SNV works with a range of partners, at donor, consortium and implementation level. All partners are unique, and therefore require indepth understanding and appreciation. In the quest to establish new partnerships, various write-up are done ranging from idea note, concept note and proposals. SNV is positioning itself to be able to limit the turnaround time involved in preparing such documentation. A qualified and experienced is envisaged to come in handy.

SNV is looking for an on call idea, concept and proposal writer to support in this area. The role will therefore require support in;

Technical writing, basic graphic designs,
Quality assurance of these proposals,
Gatherirng appropriate content,
Mobilising relevant partnerships,
Support knowledge management,
Provide basic training to staff in writing skills.
Supervision team and reporting line.

SNV has assigned a team (of Sector Leaders, or Sector focal persons guided by the Country Director) that will work closely with the writer. The position will report directly to the Country Director.

Reporting

Task reports on the concluded activities (ideas, concepts, proposal or reports) will be submitted for consideration to Country Director through the sector leads.

Remuneration

To be based on prior approved task order, work plan/time/schedule in line with the negotiated rate.

Qualifications

Qualification

A masters degree is preferred, or its equivalent and atleast 10 years experience of doing similar work.
The consultant should be eligible to operate in Uganda, with valid trading licence, tax clearance, as well as a clean track record on similar work.

Excellent organizational and people management skills.

Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple organisations and cultures.
Fluent in English language (written and spoken).
