INTRODUCTION I am a very devoted and enthused person with a lust to improve lives of people who need professional mental health and psycho-social support services to cope with healthy life challenges. I possess a very extensive post qualification experience of providing psychotherapy and counselling support services to diversity of clientele and that of working with, non-governmental and government systems at District or Local government and national levels. I am confident that I will immensely contribute to the human rights based approach to mental health of at-risk populations in your jurisdiction. At the moment, I provide mental health promotion education, case management, and support supervision for junior staff at Uganda Prisons Service.
WORK
EXPERIENCE 07/2019 - to date
Psychiatric Clinical Officer, Murchison Bay Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment, diagnosis, treatment of mentally sick prisoners and staff family members.
- Training of Subordinate staffs on mental health promotion.
- Supervision of subordinate health workers who offer mental health services to our clients.
- Work with community members to collaborate with mental health workers to identify psychiatric clients.
09/2011 – 06/2019
Regional Health Coordinator Northern Uganda, Gulu District.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinated all health services delivery activities in twelve prisons in Northern Uganda.
- Lead the Psychiatric Team to offer quality mental health services to clients.
- Performed data analysis especially activity data.
- Showed data analysis in regular meetings for creating new program
- Support supervision to lower level prison units.
- Provided Psycho-social support to all category of clients who needed it.
- Trained Village health Teams is all 12 prisons to increase staffing levels in the community.

Nursing officer Psychiatry/Nursing Director, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Maracha, Arua, Uganda.
Responsibilities:
- Established a mental health clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital
- Supervised all nursing activities
- Mentored newly recruited staffs about the Hospital culture of work.
- Trained nursing assistants to increase staffing levels.
- Participated in offering quality nursing care to all clients in the Hospital.
- Supervised and maintained hospital equipment and kept good inventory of them.
