Technical Specialist - Labour Economist; P4 (DC), Kampala
The project outcomes are:
Government will integrate pro-employment indicators in cross-cutting performance measures for LGAP Assessment.
Government will adopt and implement the National Employment Strategy resulting from this action.
General PFM reform mechanisms and procedures are properly adopted at the local level, and
Government will integrate pro-employment guidelines in fiscal decentralisation
Advanced university degree in economics with demonstrated knowledge and expertise on development economics, employment, public finances, and labour market related–issues.
Eight years of professional experience in labour and macroeconomic policy analysis/development, with a particular focus on labour market economics and analysis, employment policies, public finances and financial management, of which at least five years at the international level. Experience in publishing studies and articles based on research related to enabling environment for sustainable enterprises, the labour economy, employment policies, pro-employment macroeconomics and/or public finances. Relevant experience related Uganda and EAC region would be an advantage.
Excellent command of English is a requirement.
