The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. UN Women provides support to Member States’ efforts and priorities in meeting their gender equality goals and for building effective partnerships with civil society and other relevant actors.
UN Women operationalizes this through Flagship Programming Initiatives (FPIs) developed to achieve transformative results for gender equality and women empowerment. The FPIs respond to the expanded agenda for Beijing+20 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The main objective of UN Women’s support to Government under Peace and Security is to facilitate Women’s contribution to sustainable peace and see to it that Women contribute to and benefit from prevention of conflict and disaster.
Led the development and monitor the WPHF Monitoring and Evaluation Plan; incl. technical support to design of monitoring and evaluation standards, and the development of monitoring tools and standards.
