Peace Advisor (m/f/d) for civil society organizations working on transformation of land conflicts in Acholi
As a federal enterprise, GIZ supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.
With the dispatch of qualified specialists as development workers, GIZ contributes to the sustainable improvement of living conditions of people in developing and transition countries.
The Civil Peace Service (CPS) has been active in Uganda since 1999. From 2014 to date, GIZ CPS programme has focused its activities on land conflicts in Karamoja and Teso regions of Uganda. The programme is based on a broad Multi stakeholder approach that has led to the formation of 13 interest groups in Teso and Karamoja, which nowadays are recognized by both communities and authorities in Teso and Karamoja as important actors when it comes to mediation, dialogue and capacity building in the context of land conflict. CPS programme is expanding to Acholi subregion as one of the areas with high conflict related to land.
Contributing the necessary knowledge and experience in the field of Systemic Conflict Analysis, Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding
Advising the interest groups active in Acholi in their strategic planning and the implementation and evaluation of conflict-sensitive interventions
Strengthening the capacities of staff and local partners in utilizing innovative and creative tools of conflict transformation.
University Degree in the field of peace and conflict research, organizational development, psychology, sociology or comparable qualification
Working experience in participatory, needs-oriented planning and implementation of projects for peacebuilding and conflict transformation, profound knowledge of conflict transformation methods and tools
