Nursing Officer (1 Position)

Reports to: Medical Officer
Duty station: Entebbe
Contract Duration: 1 Year
The research-nursing officer shall be responsible for the active screening, recruitment
randomization and follow-up care of participants recruited into the CHAPS trial according to
the study standard operating procedures and study operations manual (SOM). The nursing
officer will also contribute to data collection and entry.
In addition, he/she will provide care for study participants and when possible other patients
within the Post-Abortion Care and safe male circumcision clinic, Entebbe General Referral
hospital, as a member of the in and out-patient Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC)
Roles & Responsibilities
To assist in coordinating and conducting participant visits and assuring that all procedures comply with the protocol.
To provide study information and health education to patients/ study participants
To screen volunteers for study eligibility
To obtain informed written consent from study participants.
Knowledge of research study protocols and practices is an added advantage.
Fluency in English and Luganda
Willingness to participate in occasional night and weekend work schedules is an added advantage.
Should be registered with the Nurses Council or allied professional council having an up to date practicing license.
Experience in conducting Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC).
Previous experience of paper or electronic data collection and entry.
Possession of a degree is an added advantage.
