Propose ways of exploiting the opportunities identified to achieve gender based targets, propose the strategies for dealing with risks and threats, taking advantage of the strengths of the partners;
Identify the stakeholders engaged in natural resource management in the project area, their gender responsiveness, challenges associated women/men participation and;
and propose the strategy of building multi-stakeholder platforms at district level;
Prepare a Gender Analysis report and a gender Action Plan for the project.
Prepare inception report with detailed approach, methodology, schedules of the detailed activities and expected time of delivery of the assignment;
Make a presentation of draft Gender analysis report and action plan to the Inter-Ministerial committee on SLM and the Project Management Team;
Submit the final Gender analysis report and a gender Action plan for the project.
Demonstrates integrity by modelling the UN’s values and ethical standards;
Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;

Promotes innovation and knowledge management in the project and a learning environment in the office through leadership and personal example;
In-depth practical knowledge of inter-disciplinary development issues;
Seeks and applies knowledge, information, and best practices from within and outside of the project;
Demonstrates outstanding communication skills oral and written communication skills;
Remains calm, in control and good humoured even under pressure.
Required Skills and Experience
The candidate should have either Master’s Degree in development Studies, Gender and Women studies, Human rights, or Social sciences.
A solid track record in Organisational/Institutional Development approaches, with at least five years of experience;
The consultant must have undertaken similar or related assignment in the last 5 years;
Demonstrated experience of working with government agencies and communities will be required;
Demonstrated experience working on Natural resources Management for Food security and resilience building will be an added advantage.
