Description

The hired individual will be responsible for creating detailed plans and calculating the Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for a series of construction or adaptation projects outlined in the FTI business plans (to be determined). These works are described below, and the deliverables must adhere to regulations set by concerned national or local authorities regarding the issuance of necessary licenses for construction. Additionally, alignment with FAO UN requirements is essential to facilitate the contracting process based on the generated drawings and BoQs.

Tasks and responsibilities

The incumbent shall undertake the following tasks:

Visit FTI facilities at its Entebbe campus and assess the need for renovating or constructing the following facilities:
Renovate and / or adapt the tilapia hatchery room.
Renovate and / or adaptat the catfish hatchery room.
Build two concrete circular tank base and the tank either in concrete, corrugated steel or fiberglass TBD during the visit to FTI) for providing water to the two hatcheries.
Construct three liner ponds for growing fish.
Construct three header tanks' stands and the tanks (concrete, corrugated steel or fiberglass TBD during the visit to FTI)
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:

Advanced degree (MSc or higher) in civil engineering, architect or similar area of expertise that entitle the production of the described works in a manner that can be acceptable by the concerned authorities and FAO UN
5 years of demonstrable experience in construction works in aquaculture facilities as hatcheries, circulation systems, ponds, tanks, etc.
Working knowledge of English.
National of Uganda or resident in the country with a valid work permit.
