Description

Ensure data protection policies are adhered to, establishing security controls for software, hardware and archive beneficiary databases
Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by country leadership.
Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.
Accountability to Beneficiaries

Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to international standards guiding international relief and development work, while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.
Sensitise communities on Apolou's CARM system and encourage them to share feedback through the promoted channels
Organizational Learning

As part of our commitment to organizational learning and in support of our understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient and relevant to the communities they serve, we expect all team members to commit 5% of their time to learning activities that benefit Mercy Corps as well as themselves.
Other:

Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: MCHN Officers

ACCOUNTABILITY

REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: MCHN Program Manager

WORKS DIRECTLY WITH: District Implementation Team, Technical Team, Gender and Youth Team, MEL and other Mercy Corps program, finance and operations staff

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

At least 4 years of related professional experience, with 2 years management experience a plus
Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field with Master’s degree a plus
Demonstrable writing and analytical skills and dexterity in data collection & analysis, verification and documentation.
Experience developing BCC materials and curricula.
Proven skills as a trainer of trainers, with experience in gender training a plus
Proven skills in networking, team-building, community consultations and organizational development;
Excellent reporting, communication and representation skills; messaging, branding and visibility of the Apolou program
Intimate knowledge of the social and economic context of Karamoja, with a specific understanding of the Uganda health systems and health challenges and gender empowerment in Karamoja
Willingness to consider new perspectives, promote gender equality and engage in advanced gender training.
Fluency in Nga’Karamojong a plus.
