Field of activity
Uganda sets itself high goals with the Uganda Vision 2040. It wants to develop into a middle-income country within 30 years. To do this, several bottlenecks have to be overcome that inhibit the country's socio-economic development and are addressed in the program “Strengthening governance and civil society”. This area is supported by the EU with the large-scale "Civil Society in Uganda Support Program", with the aim of strengthening the capacities of civil society in Uganda.

Your tasks
Advising the program management and the component manager on financial management and commercial decisions in a governance program
Support for a large EU co-financing including the preparation of an annual financial report
Organization and supervision of the annual audit
Cash planning and monitoring
Close cooperation with the administrative unit of the project and professional management of the unit
Ensuring compliance with financial and administrative standards in accordance with EU and GIZ guidelines
Support and monitoring of the financial and administrative aspects of the allocation of program components to consultations
Conception of commercial and administrative training for national staff and foreign employees and their implementation


Knowledge of the country in Uganda or East Africa is an advantage
Business fluent in English and very good knowledge of German
Very good organizational and communication skills, teamwork skills and strong intercultural competence

Experience Requirements

Experience in handling co-financing; Knowledge of EU procedures is desirable
Very good knowledge of controlling standards, especially in financial management
Ideally, familiarity with GIZ and EU regulations to implement co-financing and work experience in EU-funded projects

Education Requirements

Completed studies in business administration, economics, international management or alternatively commercial training
In-depth knowledge and experience in management and in the commercial-financial handling of projects, preferably in the area of ​​public clients
