Summary: The U.S. Mission in Uganda is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Field Epidemiology Training Resident Advisor.

The work schedule for this position is:

Full Time, 40 hours per week
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: No

Duties: The job holder will serve in the Division of Global Health Protection (DGHP) within the Global Health Center (GHC) at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Kampala, Uganda. Specifically, the job holder will support the Uganda Ministry of Health (MOH) to implement its Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) in Uganda and other workforce development and health systems strengthening programs.

This position will also support Uganda’s nascent Global Laboratory Leadership Program (GLLP) initiated in 2023 that interfaces and collaborates directly with the FETP. Strong workforce capacity-building programs are a vital part of Global Health Security (GHS) agenda, which will play an important role on the advancement and development of a National Public Health Institute (NPHI) and a functioning Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
