National Consultant to Develop a Policy brief on Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) Based from the National Governance, Peace and Security Survey (NGPSS 2017) and Annual Gender Statistics Forum (AGSF II 2018) Reports

It provides strong and coherent leadership in support of Member States’ priorities and efforts while building effective partnerships with civil society and other relevant actors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Overall Objective

The overall objective of the assignment is to develop a policy brief on Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) from the findings of the Gender Module of the National Governance Peace and Security Survey (NGPSS 2017) report and the Annual Gender Statistics Forum (AGSF II 2018) report to provide an evidence base for advocacy, programme design and implementation and decision-making at national and sub national level.

Required Skills and Experience
Proven ability to produce high quality reports and to work under tight deadlines.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of statistical production processes and data analysis;
Good knowledge and experience in leading and designing gender statistical capacity enhancement programs in developing countries particularly in sub-Sahara Africa.
Proven ability to advocate and provide policy advice to senior government officials, international development partners, civil society representatives etc.

Experience Requirements

At least 10 years of experience and record of accomplishment in research and development activities, with an emphasis on feminist economics, gender or similar;

Education Requirements

A Minimum of A master’s degree preferably in Gender equality, human rights, Development Studies, Demography, Statistics, Economics or related areas.
Possession of a PhD degree in Social Sciences will be an added advantage.
