Background
NORC at the University of Chicago is one of the largest and most highly respected social research organizations pursuing high quality social science research both in the U.S. and internationally. NORC is seeking a Capacity Strengthening Specialist for the RFTOP under USAID Uganda’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning & Strategic Information (MEL-SI) Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The Capacity Strengthening Specialist will work full-time over a 5-year period based in Kampala, Uganda. The Uganda MEL Activity aims to provide support services to USAID/Uganda’s technical offices and implementing partners to strengthen performance management, conducting evaluations and facilitating learning and adapting. Ugandan citizens are strongly encouraged to apply. This full-time position is contingent on funding.
Responsibilities
The Capacity Strengthening Specialist will plan, prepare, deliver and oversee training, on-the-job coaching, and other forms of capacity building for staff from USAID, implementing partners, and a range of other local institutions.
Meaningfully contribute to the development of contractual deliverables such as annual reports and work plans;
Required Qualifications
University degree in international development, public policy, communications, or other related fields.
Five years of experience leading the development and implementation of courses, training and/or technical assistance, including:
Preparing training materials and/or technical assistance plans;
Facilitating capacity building activities in MEL and MEL tools,
Capturing and disseminating lessons learned.
