Job Summary;
The Assistant Facilities Engineer is a member of the Engineering team within the operation section under Finance and administration department. The  verarching task for the Assistant Facilities Engineer is to support the Engineering team in engineering related activities, maintenance and repairs, inventory control,
documentation and safety of all facilities related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of the systems at all times.

Key roles and responsibilities
Developing specifications, plans/drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and scope of works for the planned infrastructures/ facilities upgrade, maintenance and

Supervision and monitoring of facilities constructions/modifications and installations of the ongoing approved works by contractors to ensure conformity in terms of quality standards, cost and time frame.

In consultation with the final users, provides support in relation to their work
related operations requests, procurement, reviewing of bids and quotations from potential contractors and negotiations to ensure that they are economically
viable and meet required ethical standards.


Skills in assessing conditions and standard of tools, equipment and completed work
Skills in letting, managing and troubleshooting with contractors andmaintenance contracts
Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard health and safety practices
Knowledge of principles and practices of general building construction and maintenance.

Experience Requirements

Experience of at least five years with a variety of infrastructure systems, tools, equipment, maintenance, installations and repair
Handy man experience and skills are required
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written; including ability to negotiate with potential contractors/service providers.

Education Requirements

Ordinary Diploma in either Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution, Higher Diploma will be an added advantage.
