IDH Kenya oversees programs in Coffee, landscapes, textiles manufacturing and value chain transformation. The Kenya country office supports a growing team of over twenty staff to deliver on IDH impact themes of Better Jobs, Better Incomes and Better Environment. We work through businesses and markets to change business and sector practices. For this, we seek dynamic and driven individuals to complement the existing team to deliver on the impact themes of IDH.

Your role

The operations officer supports operational excellence in IDH through the execution of administrative tasks on procurement, logistics, office management, and program support for the efficient execution of programs coordinated from the IDH-Kenya country office. This position broadly impacts IDH by reducing the time spent by program staff on administrative tasks, improving the overall quality of program management processes, and improving the efficiency of office administration tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Office management including onboarding and equipping the country team with tools for work and overseeing maintenance of the office assets.
Support program administration on Salesforce with setting up accounts, monitoring reporting and documentation, and updating processes.
Support the coordination of the IDH annual plan and annual report process for the country.
Facilitating program events in the country including invitations, bookings, logistics, and payments to service providers.
Travel support including transport arrangements with service providers, hotel reservations, and coordinating payment of service providers.
Coordinate IT support to the country team in liaison with HQ and in-country service providers. eFCMrFu u3CuQ
Identify opportunities for operational improvement and lead projects to enhance safety, communication, project management, and organizational development.
What you bring

Working and thinking at master’s degree level in business administration, (development) economics, environmental science, or another relevant field.
5+ years of relevant working experience in project management, strategy, analysis, or business advisory services.
Strong communication skills including excellent spoken and written English. Other East African languages are a plus.
Relevant private sector or government work experience and affinity with the field in which IDH operates.
Affinity with sustainability and international trade and development.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
